"Lovey property in the Maurienne Valley. Very well furnished with good size kitchen and living area. Perfect location for a summer cycling holiday.
Stayed at Petit Nid with a group of friends. We are all keen cyclists and found the location of Petit Nid perfect for excursions to all the big cols of the famous Maurienne Valley. The Tour de France visits this valley every year. Glandon, Croix du Fer, Mollard, Alpe d'Huez, Madeleine, Champlaurent and Grand Cucheron are all within cycling distance and with a fairly short drive you can access Galibier, Izoard and Iseran.
Sarah kindly offered us secure lockable storage for our bikes and the washing machine in the property allowed us to clean all our dirty clothes.
There is a town with supermarkets within a 10 min drive and a full range of cooking facilities in the nicely finished kitchen.
There is a lovely lake 5 mins bike ride away which has a bar, beach and good swimming. There is also a stream/river running next to le Petit Nid which was ideal for post ride cooling down.
Overall our plans were to cycle the big cols and see the Tour de France, Le Petit Nid was the perfect base for this and a great week was had by us all."
